Heißenbüttel’s text consists of quotations, images and metaphors on the theme of love, freely combined from every level of literature – from classical to popular fiction. His mixture of language is juxtaposed with quotations from Japanese love songs, photographed from a karaoke screen. These songs combine not only different linguistic registers, but also different languages.
